LOCAL RULES : Effective from 1st May 2019
1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 2.1)
a. Over all hedges, walls and quarry edges forming the boundaries of the course
b. Beyond the wire fence set in the hedge to the right of the 2nd hole
c. On or over the walls to the right of the 3rd hole and behind the 4th green
d. Beyond the white stakes to the left of the 12th hole
e. The clubhouse and surrounds, car park and putting green
f. On or to the left of roadways when playing the 18th hole
2. PENALTY AREAS as defined by red stakes (Rule 17)
a. The pond to the right of the 5th hole
b. The pond and ditch on the 7th and 8th holes
c. The quarried areas to the right of the 15th fairway and green
d. The quarried areas to the right of the 16th hole
e. The area of trees and shrubs to the left of the 16th hole
a-e Lateral relief may be taken within 2 club lengths of point of entry, no nearer the hole than point of
entry. See Rule 17.1.d for further options (Stroke & Distance and Back-on-the-Line)
(All 1 penalty stroke)
3. SPECIAL RELIEFS
a. A ball lying within 2 club lengths, in line of play, of a sprinkler head or junction box, may be dropped clear,
not nearer the hole, without penalty (see Rule 16.1)
b. If a ball strikes the overhead power lines or any telegraph pole when playing the 2nd hole the stroke must be
cancelled and replayed without penalty (see Rule 14.6)
c. A ball lying on stones or a rocky outcrop in the General Area may be dropped clear, not nearer the hole, without
penalty (see Rule 16.1)
d. Hoof marks and tractor tyre marks are Ground Under Repair (see Rule 16.1)
e. Relief is also permitted if your ball lies within 2 club lengths of the Driving Bays and Practice Net. You may
drop within 1 club length of the nearest point of relief, not nearer the hole
f. All tees and greens on the Junior course are to be treated as Ground Under Repair. Relief to be taken within 1
club length, no nearer the hole
g. A ball lying on exposed tree roots in the General Area more than 1 club length from the base of the
nearest tree and on the fairway or within 2 club lengths of the fairway may be dropped clear, not nearer the
hole, without penalty (see Rule 16.1)
h. Aeration Holes: A ball coming to rest in an aeration hole on the putting green only, may be placed at the
nearest spot, not nearer the hole, which avoids such condition
